suggestions for linux laptop

I have used a T series ThinkPad before, currently I use an X series
(X201).  They have both served me wonderfully with Fedora.  Since you
mention higher resolutions, I guess the X series is out of the question.
I would suggest the T or W series with integrated graphics.
