Removing bash would obviously lead to catastrophic consequences.
yum remove or yum erase are safe in my opinion. I also use
"clean_requirements_on_remove".
"The clean_requirements_on_remove configuration changes the behaviour of this
command to also remove packages that are only dependencies of this package."
Here is the difference. yum remove won't remove dependencies unless you use
something like clean_requirements_on_remove or remove_leaf_only.
