IMHO the spin freeze is one of the worst ideas we ever had. I will ask
the Spins SIG to revert this decision tonight because it was made under
false assumptions (At least from my POV).

We talked about the app selection four weeks ago and I think we agreed
to
     1. drop gftp
     2. drop totem in favor of parole, although we loose automatic codec
        install
     3. replace mousepad with leafpad. This will require a change in the
default config of xfce4-panel. Meanwhile there is a preview of
the new mousepad which is a complete rewrite. I'd like to roll
testing packages of it before we decide to switch to leafpad, so
I don't think we should make this change now.

There has been some progress with LXDM recently: It now supports
plymouth, custom themes [1], Xauth, but not yet gnome-keyring. And there
are still probems with selinux [2].

One more change I'd like to propose: Replace tigervnc with remmina [3]
Remmina supports VNC (outgoing and incoming!), XDMCP RDP, and SSH/SFTP,
has a nice GTK interface and last but not least an Xfce panel applet. :)
Remmina is currently under review [4] and I have already packaged
remmina-xfce.

Great!
For now I suggest to only drop gftp and totem, the rest is up to further
discussion.
