Hello,
I'm getting started with cobbler, and I find myself wanting to add systems
to DHCP, but NOT to override the default PXE menu. I love the PXE menu -- I
love being able to choose from all the profiles, and having easy access to
rescue and memtest. But I'm used to using static DHCP entries, and my
existing kickstarts depend on that. I don't like having a system be married
to a single profile, and I would like to keep access to the PXE menu after
install.
So, I would like to add an option to skip creating
/var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<mac-address> files. For my use, that would
be universal, but I could also see it as a per-system or even per-interface
option.
Before I hack something up for my own use, is this an option other people
are interested in? Any suggestions for how to do it?
My only thought would be to change the pxe templates in
/etc/cobbler/pxe/. Other than that I don't really know.
