I'm using it for FreeBSD installs via the python tftp daemon. I intent
to export it via http as well, but have not started that yet.
I'm looking at adding ESXi support for importing, and it requires

If you can attempt to download them via tftp, then you're good to go.
Set the parameter to "path=source". For example, I have it set in the
distro to "boot/mfsroot.gz=$initrd". When the client requests
"boot/mfsroot.gz", it gets the file pointed to by the materialized
host's "initrd" property.
The name gets used as a literal string, as the requested file. Leading
'/'s get trimmed off before comparison. The value side is run through
cheetah to turn into a path, and then the file at that path is served.
see it working. Also, in a distro it's a list, but in a profile
it's a
hash - is that intentional?
No. It's worked for me when set in both the distro and the profile, but
that would be accidental. I've got to fix that.
