Hi, as Stef suggested It would be nice to see versions of cockpit packages or if you are using it from git. I've met similar issues, when tested cokpit and I had mixed versions of cockpit, something from git and something from distributed packages and similar issue, when I've updated cockpit from git, but system were running version from packages. Sometimes helped to reload systemd and cokpit or ensure, that all cockpit packages have same version. Regards Honza

After i log in to cockpit web ui using firefox, the page remaines empty
(white).
Sometimes I get a warning message "Unresponsive script" saying: "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding.
You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.
Script: https:// server:9090/cockpit/$3..../shell/bundle.js:29"
I do not have this problem when I use Opera browser.
Which version of Cockpit are you using? I know you can't reach the about dialog, but you may be able to do this on the system to figure it out:
$ rpm -q cockpit-shell
or
$ dpkg -s cockpit-shell
