Hi folks,
just want to send some heads up info about the GIMP package in the RHEL-9 release.
As some of you might notice, the GIMP package is missing in RHEL-9. The reason for this
is it's requirement of Python 2, which isn't supported in RHEL-9 any more.
During the RHEL-9 prep phase, I gave the information that GIMP authors are working on a
new GIMP 3 release, which is going to use Python 3 and once the GIMP 3 is released, the
GIMP package will appear in RHEL-9 again.
Carrying this in mind I would like to ask you - *don't* create a gimp branch for
EPEL9 as it would create additional problems later once the GIMP 3 is available.
Thank you for your understanding and wish you all the best in 2022.
Thanks for letting us know, Josef!
