Please branch and build python-vobject in epel9.
If you do not wish to maintain python-vobject in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-vobject/addgroup and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.
I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: salimma); please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-vobject/adduser
--- Additional comment from Dan Horák on 2023-10-26 11:45:30 UTC ---
I believe @pingou wouldn't mind and I have added commit rights to the SIG.

Thank you Dan!

--- Comment #1 from Peter Bieringer pb@bieringer.de --- forgot to mention, in case able to build, the python38 variant would be required by "radicale".

--- Comment #2 from Michel Lind michel@michel-slm.name --- It is possible, but I'm personally not keen on adding to EPEL 8 (it will go EOL next May) https://endoflife.date/rhel
Would you like to do it yourself? Easiest to use this guideline and start a new python38-vobject package: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/Python3X

--- Comment #3 from Peter Bieringer pb@bieringer.de --- Currently in "radicale" vobject is bundled in RPM into USER_SITE and working well. If nobody else requires such RPM, no need to spend more efforts.
BTW: I would consider EPEL 8 earliest May 2029 EOL when EL 8 reaches ELS (as even for EPEL 7 packages can be still updated while EL 7 has reached maintenance support already).
