Adding a range that matches UIDs and GIDs that were not within the existing range fixed the 'Cannot convert Posix ID [1409438538] into an unused SID' error and allowed me to run 'ipa config-mod --enable-sid --add-sids' successfully. I can now use 'kinit' and log in to the web GUI successfully.
