I added a fake entry to each table with correct relations of the foreign keys.
But I still get the same error. Can you reproduce the problem with a fresh setup?

Actually let me ask you this, are you stuck on using 1.1.1 or would you
mind using the next version when it comes out? (currently in devel) It
should have a simpler db setup as well as no views. Its a big change but
is in decent shape. In the meantime though if you're just looking to get
something setup to look at let me know and I'll make sure to get either
devel in working shape for you or I'll come up with a patch for 1.1.1.
