As I said in a private message to you - try to get find me on Skype
when you read this and perhaps we can take a look.
I would suggest installing the package manually from its sources.
Just download the latest sources from the Hg repository on BitBucket
into some folder. Then go to that folder and run 'python setup.py install'.
That should set everything up into site-packages of the used Python
distribution without any side-affects from easy-install or pip. Then if
the installation problem is reproduced - you have something simpler to
analyse, and if it is not - you have a working installation you can test
things on and you can still debug the packaged installation separately
(you can for instance easily use setup.py to package the current sources
into the a new distribution package and test with that to see if the
problem affects only the old version or if it affects a version based on
the current sources as well).
