i try to get rid of it.
so what are my options?

p.s. i did the above with no loaded HW extension modules, just to see
the effect. not sure if that makes a difference.
The VM needs to be shutoff before virt-manager allows deleting it.
Right click the VM row, select Shut Down -> Force Off.
