I believe you would have to modify /etc/cobbler/pxe/pxelocal.template.
Then cobbler sync and you should have what you are looking for.
I don't know if we would change this as the default in cobbler. That
message seems to say there are some problems when using that. But
changing it on your local system shouldn't be a problem.
I simply downloaded and compiled an older version of syslinux, syslinux-3.52
to be exact. Doesn't work for some folks as some features are missing in this
version that, but it works fine in my environment.
