[Bug 2251573] New: gupnp: FTBFS in Fedora Rawhide
by bugzilla@redhat.com
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2251573
Bug ID: 2251573
Summary: gupnp: FTBFS in Fedora Rawhide
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
URL: https://koschei.fedoraproject.org/package/gupnp
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Component: gupnp
Severity: medium
Assignee: klember(a)redhat.com
Reporter: code(a)musicinmybrain.net
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: davide(a)cavalca.name,
epel-packagers-sig(a)lists.fedoraproject.org,
klember(a)redhat.com
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
Package gupnp fails to build from source in Fedora Rawhide.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.6.5-1.fc39
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
fedpkg co gupnp
cd gupnp
fedpkg mockbuild
Actual Results:
../libgupnp/gupnp-service.c: In function ‘control_server_handler’:
../libgupnp/gupnp-service.c:418:15: error: implicit declaration of function
‘xmlReadMemory’; did you mean ‘xmlInitMemo
ry’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
418 | doc = xmlReadMemory (request_body->data,
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~
| xmlInitMemory
../libgupnp/gupnp-service.c:422:30: error: ‘XML_PARSE_NONET’ undeclared (first
use in this function)
422 | XML_PARSE_NONET | XML_PARSE_RECOVER);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
../libgupnp/gupnp-service.c:422:30: note: each undeclared identifier is
reported only once for each function it appear
s in
../libgupnp/gupnp-service.c:422:48: error: ‘XML_PARSE_RECOVER’ undeclared
(first use in this function)
422 | XML_PARSE_NONET | XML_PARSE_RECOVER);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Expected Results:
Successful build.
Failing scratch build:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=109583644
This is most likely a consequence of updating libxml2 from 2.11.5 to 2.12.0
(now 2.12.1).

--- Comment #1 from Milan Crha <mcrha(a)redhat.com> ---
Thanks for a bug report. I guess, and only guess, the Cinnamon spin does not
install gnome-software package, because gnome-software is developed for GNOME,
not for Cinnamon (or by Cinnamon). There's nothing gnome-software itself can do
about it, this is a plea for the Cinnamon spin and their component/package set.
I move this to the "cinnamon" component. I do not know where their spin gathers
requests/bug reports, I'm sorry.
