Hi all,
As was discussed in Tuesday's Diversity meeting, I was going to create the event page for Fedora Women Day 2016 using some other event templates I've used. The page now exists, and you can find details for it here.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Women_Day_2016
There's not much info on there yet, but this wiki page should make a good location for putting related information and planning in a single place where anyone can refer back to it.
I'm about to be leaving for a little bit so I didn't put down an event description yet, but someone might also be able to write up something better for that too.
Discussion about Fedora Women Day should happen on diversity@lists.fedoraproject.org.
Thanks all! :)
Thank you so much Justin!
Lets everyone put our ideas for this great event!!!

Great, thanks Justin. I will try to put my inputs there.

Super, i like the idea of having a "Fedora Women Day" and i'm really happy to host this event at Open Labs Hackerspace [1] in Tirana (Albania). It would be really great if we had a skype call so we can get to share our experiences. I will take a look at the wiki (thank you Justin) to share my thoughts. :D
Also i will give a talk "Where are womens in Fedora" at DORS/CLUC [2] in Zagreb Croatia (11-13 May) so i can take advantage of this to share it with others and gather as many ideas as we can to organize "Fedora Women Day" in many countries.

What about hangouts? that way we could keep the recording online. Any other ideas besides skype (I like skype, but I know many don't)

I don't mind, i like the idea to keep the recording online so we can use hangout or something similar ;) On Apr 22, 2016 2:00 PM, "María Leandro" tatica@fedoraproject.org wrote:

We should opt for that option where we can keep the recordings for later use as well and which is used by many currently. +1 to hangout.

Jitsi (https://jitsi.org/) is an open source video conferencing tool we've been using in CommOps, but as of the time of writing, there's no way to record a meeting or broadcast it like with Hangouts. Unless Jitsi adds something like that soon, I'm +1 to using Hangouts.
It would definitely be awesome to get different communities across the world talking with each other over audio/video for the event. :)
