We had a joint meeting on #archlinux-women yesterday and did discuss a few plans.
But we really need to plan more sustainable models in the face of competing projects and address gaps in our targeting.

Think you could share some of the links from the discussions at the meeting here on the list too? Just so they're in a place we can refer back to. :) Thanks!

my email came out like seconds before Mani got the logs... my bad!
* I like the Classroom initiative, yet, we already have a classroom project on Fedora that could be used to push the idea [0]
* Meetings need people, people need time. Having meetings could be a good idea, only if we come up with long term plans that actually need to be discussed "Live", otherwise, mail-list works fine (I might be wrong, is just my perception)
* You could add a Fedora Women Day, just as we have a Fedora Activity Day. Either in person or remote, it could be the perfect place for us to know each other and also to let the world know that we do exist. Maybe it would be nice to plan a bi-yearly meeting and just do an activity Day specific for the Fedora Females on board.
Just drooping ideas, hope they help.

I really think the idea of a Fedora Women Day would be an interesting idea. I see it as a chance to help build the community a little and help other women contributors see "who else is there", so to speak. I', personally +1 to that idea!

I also like this idea., May be we can have it on some special days associated with women like International women day, so that we can have good number of target audience.

I found 2 important dates for Women:
* *March 8 *is International Women’s Day. First observed in 1911 in Germany, it has now become a major global celebration honoring women’s economic, political, and social achievements.
* *August 26* is Women’s Equality Day, which commemorates the August 26, 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. Congresswoman Bella Abzug first introduced a proclamation for Women’s Equality Day in 1971. Since that time, every president has published a proclamation recognizing August 26 as Women’s Equality Day.
March is already gone, so we could go with August, probably set up a small Fedora Women Day for that date with some online activities could be nice. Even if we can't pull an event such as, we could do a small awareness campaign with a nice page with some testimonials, videos, online workshops and such.
What do you think about this? Are this dates viable?

fine, we can have a Fedora Women's Day.
The situation is like lot of women are interested in learning, projects, internships, certificates, ...
There are a few initiatives with limited uptake like the well known ones, GSOC ,systers-related, etc and so we need to offer more.
