Fedora Core 4 Update: squid-2.5.STABLE13-1.FC4
by Martin Stransky
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-150
2006-03-15
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 4
Name : squid
Version : 2.5.STABLE13
Release : 1.FC4
Summary : The Squid proxy caching server.
Description :
Squid is a high-performance proxy caching server for Web clients,
supporting FTP, gopher, and HTTP data objects. Unlike traditional
caching software, Squid handles all requests in a single,
non-blocking, I/O-driven process. Squid keeps meta data and especially
hot objects cached in RAM, caches DNS lookups, supports non-blocking
DNS lookups, and implements negative caching of failed requests.
Squid consists of a main server program squid, a Domain Name System
lookup program (dnsserver), a program for retrieving FTP data
(ftpget), and some management and client tools.

[SECURITY] Fedora Core 4 Update: gnupg-1.4.2.2-1
by Nalin Dahyabhai
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-147
2006-03-13
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 4
Name : gnupg
Version : 1.4.2.2
Release : 1
Summary : A GNU utility for secure communication and data storage.
Description :
GnuPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is a GNU utility for encrypting data and
creating digital signatures. GnuPG has advanced key management
capabilities and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet
standard described in RFC2440. Since GnuPG doesn't use any patented
algorithm, it is not compatible with any version of PGP2 (PGP2.x uses
only IDEA for symmetric-key encryption, which is patented worldwide).
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Tavis Ormandy discovered a flaw in the way GnuPG verifies
cryptographically signed data with inline signatures. It is
possible for an attacker to add unsigned text to a signed
message in such a way so that when the signed text is
extracted, the unsigned text is extracted as well, appearing
as if it had been signed. The Common Vulnerabilities and
Exposures project assigned the name CVE-2006-0049 to this issue.

* Fri Mar 10 2006 Nalin Dahyabhai <nalin(a)redhat.com> - 1.4.2.2-1

Fedora Core 5 Status
by Jeremy Katz
Due to circumstances outside of our control, we're going to be unable to
keep to the scheduled date of March 15th for the release of FC5 and
instead are going to have to make the release date Monday, March 20th.
While unfortunate in some ways, this gives us the opportunity to pull in
the final GNOME 2.14 tarballs which should be available on Monday
assuming the changes are suitably minor.
