provide the patch using standard git-format-patch way.
No worries, all good! We're still figuring out a good standard practice
for this stuff.
wwoods pointed me to 'git-rebase -i' as a way to combine many patches
into more meaningful units. I'll have to give that a try if I have a
merge request out to the list (unlikely ... you guys are the coders!)
