Dylan,
I posed a similar question a while back and got crickets back. I may
not have worded the question very well so hopefully you'll have better
results :)
I ended up setting it during a portinstall script after the first
boot. A simple 'sed' line did the trick.
I too would rather be able to do it in cobbler.

Hi All,
It may seem counter-intuitive, but I have to install to and boot
several blades with Ethernet devices that I would like to place in the
'off-line' state.
I can use the stanza "ONBOOT=no" in the ifcfg-eth<n> file to achieve
this at the command line, or within a hand crafted kickstart file..
I wondered if there is a way to tell cobbler to configure a network
device in this way while defining the network devices to be used on a
server, such as:
cobbler system edit --name=foo --interface=eth0
--mac=AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:00 --onboot=no, or will I need to modify the post
network snippet to make this change for me?

Dylan
