Hi everybody,
I want to install a system with 2 NICs. For configuring the systems I did: cobbler system add --name="sys1" [....] --ip="10.0.0.1" --mac="00:01:02:03:04:05" --subnet="255.255.255.0" --gateway="10.0.0.10"
cobbler system edit --name="sys1" --interface="1" --ip="192.168.0.1" --mac="00:02:03:04:05:06" --subnet="255.255.255.0" --gateway="192.168.0.10"
When I do a:
cobbler system dumpvars --name=sys1
I get only one gateway - which is in this case the one for interface 1: 'gateway': '192.168.0.10'
In the dumped variables section interfaces, there is no gateway entry. For getting the interfaces configured correctly in my kickstart file I need the correct gateways for each NIC. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Thanks and cheers, Jens

A gateway is a default gateway, and by definition you can only have one. I know some people have this listed in more than one interface configuration file, but I don't believe that does anything: the last interface configured wins the gateway.
What you need to do is setup static routes for the interface that you consider secondary. For instance, at work our default gateway is set to the gateway of the production interfaces. We have backup management interfaces on each system, for which we add static routes back to our internal networks (private ip ranges in 192.168.x.x).
