Yeah, the reason for that is somewhat complicated.
Technically one should be able to install cobbler on ia64 -- whether
anyone does, I don't know -- but there's no syslinux package available
there.
So, we just have "cobbler check" look for it.
Either way, "cobbler check" should alert you to missing packages -- if
it does not -- that's a bug.
I'd do architecture-dependent-dependencies to slurp it in when possible
but noarch RPMs don't allow for that if I recall correctly.
