Hello,
How can the firewall on the target system be disabled during cobbler install?
The kickstart file has the following statements at the end of the post section -
Firewall -disabled
Service iptables stop
Chkconfig iptables off
Still, after the install, the firewall is active.
Thanks!
Anu Ramachandra
It is all lower case - outlook changed it to upper case.

try with lowercase "chkconfig" :)

I am using '--' (double).
Thanks,
Anu

are you using firewall --disabled in your kickstart? with double - or did outlook change that too?

I've found that ordering can sometimes matter in the kickstart files. Do you have firewall --disabled before any %pre/%post/%packages sections? The issue I was having was that %packages came after %pre in mine, so it was trying to run package names as commands... I took my a while to figure out why I'd have to switch to vty3 during the kickstart and exit parted...

James is correct. The "firewall --disabled" command should appear before any %post, %pre sections.
The "service" and "chkconfig" commands belong in the %post section.
