Hello everybody.
If you don´t know it, Arduino (
http://www.arduino.cc) is an open-source
electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware
and software. It can sense the environment by receiving input from a
variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights,
motors, and other actuators. The microcontroller on the board is
programmed using the Arduino programming language (based on GPL Wiring
-http://www.wiring.org.co-) and the Arduino development environment (based
on GPL/LGPL Processing -http://www.processing.org-). Arduino projects can
be stand-alone or they can communicate with software on running on a
computer. The boards can be built by hand or purchased preassembled; the
software can be downloaded for free. The hardware reference designs (CAD
files) are available under an open-source license, you are free to adapt
them to your needs (you can see
http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Hardware and
http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Policy).
I think it would be very nice is Fedora could incorporate Arduino IDE out-
of-the-box. You can download it from
http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software,
and you can see dependencies requirements at
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Learning/Linux
(specific intructions for Fedora 11 are written at
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Linux/Fedora)
If you want, you can gather more information from the official web.
