This looks very promising. I believe it's entirely in Python and doesn't rely on particular frameworks, psyco, or other weird stuff.

Well, yes, there are quite a few Free conference planning software. No, I don't know which ones are good :(. For GUADEC, this has been a source of major pain for us year after year, so I'm willing to help test some of them.
