I added the final approved macros.ghc in ghc-6.8.3-4.fc10.
Once that has been tested let's backport it to f9 (and f8) as needed.

How about starting with a scratch build first in koji so we can see "what the damage is"? :)
We are past Feature Freeze now alas so strictly there should not be any more version bumps, so I am not sure it is a good idea to push it into f10 beyond the beta. (As much as I want to see 6.10 in fedora soon.)

a) turns out there's a new xmonad release. I've even built packages for it.
I'll test the new macros, and rebuild everything.
b) xmonad generally requires ghc-xmonad. there are very very few cases where
it doesn't and that's not the normal use case. since we don't have a
'highly-suggested-install-this-or-die' category like debian, i'm going to
acommodate 99% of use cases and note that xmonad definitely requires ghc-xmonad
(although technically the other way around isn't necessary.)

I updated xmonad.spec (see attachment 316173) in the review (bug 426753) too,
so that it builds with these macros.

Should xmonad not require ghc-xmonad?
