Just a few comments from me:
a) "Trolling" is an overused word and doesn't seem to apply at all here.
"an internet term for a person who, through willful action, attempts to
disrupt a community or garner attention and controversy through
provocative messages"
b) On one side I would suggest approaching the channel with an open mind
and simply ask for information on how to solve the problem at hand. Avoid
terms like "this is broken" or "fix this now", try "how can I
find out
more information about...". On the other side, I would suggest people try
and avoid leaping to conclusions about someone based on past behavior. Try
and see what they are doing at the time, not that you dislike them.
c) If you find IRC presents language barriers, try a lang specific
channel? Perhaps #fedora-russian? Or you may consider mailing lists of
forums if you don't like the support in irc.
