Katello not configuring foreman
by zak.herner@anixter.com
Did in install of Katello on a fresh RHEL 6.5 box last week. Been trying
to follow the documentation but it seems to be missing some information.
First problem was with foreman-proxy. I was not able to setup the smart
proxy due to an issue with /etc/foreman-proxy/settings.yml having the port
set to 8443. Candlepin/tomcat is already consuming port 8443 after
installing katello. I couldn't find anything about port conflicts in the
logs, perhaps I wasn't looking in the right places. Once I changed the
port for foreman-proxy to another port I was able to add the smart proxy.
Problem two is my puppet master was never configured. I don't see a
configuration for the puppet master in /etc/httpd/conf.d It looks like
there is a puppet master manifest at
/usr/share/foreman-installer/modules/puppet/manifests/params.pp, I would
assume that this was supposed to be run by the katello installer.
Is there a way to run the puppet manifest to install/configure the puppet
master? Can someone provide the command and syntax?
I didn't have any errors in /var/log/katello/katello-configure/main.log,
not sure if my katello install experience is typical? Did I get unlucky
or are these known issues?
