These are a few changes I developed for supporting my kernel vanilla builds

For the record, due to a build error I found out why looking in origin/ is
needed: locally you for example may have say fedora-6.2 and linux-6.2.y
branches that are needed for the ark-infra to work. But when you push that to
a server and then somebody else clones the repo and checks out the fedora-6.2
branch, there is no linux-6.2.y branch; due to checking origin things will
work in this case.

I have no general objections to these changes, however, the commit
messages do need to be improved.  You have one commit message that is
completely empty.  We sometimes have to go back and try to figure out why
we made a change and having zero information in these commits is going to
cause a lot of confusion.

Please clean these up.  IMO you would have a problem with acceptance in
almost any maintained project similar to the size of kernel-ark.

WTF? Empty? How did that happen? Sorry. I know I was a bit terse, as I feared
a "we don't care about these changes", but that went to far. Pushed a
updated
branch with improved commit messages.
