Hi folks,
For those involved in packaging for the Medical sig, please do have a
look at the opensuse src rpms[1]. I think just changing the macros to
fit fedora's build system should be enough.
There is definitely more to change, for example
* Group: tags
* BuildRoot: tags
* Desktop files
* Bundled libraries: The size of the packages indicates that many
sources contain bundled libraries, e.g. openemr bundles
phpmyadmin. This is strictly forbidden in Fedora.
* %defattr's
* changelog formats
Fedora's and OpenSUSE's packaging guidelines are very different because
OpenSUSE just copied ours (even the typos), but as a reviewer or sponsor
I'd like to see everything packaged from scratch with the templates from
rpmdev-newspec. I have looked at some of the files and there are many
that I would refuse to approve in their current state.
If you however do use one of the OpenSUSE spec, please give credit to
those who deserve it. Write at least something like "Initial Fedora
package based on work by Foo Bar for OpenSUSE" as last change log entry
or do not change the changelog at all.
Regards,
