Summary: USB Booting - bug :)
Product: Fedora Documentation
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: urgent
Priority: medium
Component: release-notes
AssignedTo: relnotes(a)fedoraproject.org
ReportedBy: valent.turkovic(a)gmail.com
QAContact: kwade(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
There is a "bug" in release notes:
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f10/en_US/What_is_New_for_Ins...
There is no note that you need to install first livecd-tools via yum
# rpm -ql livecd-tools
/usr/bin/image-creator
/usr/bin/livecd-creator
/usr/bin/livecd-iso-to-disk
/usr/bin/livecd-iso-to-pxeboot
But please also mention the GUI tool from liveusb-creator that works
excellently!

[Bug 472919] New: Listing languages for release notes

Severity: medium
Priority: medium
Component: release-notes
AssignedTo: relnotes(a)fedoraproject.org
ReportedBy: scmuser(a)gmail.com
QAContact: kwade(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
The release notes available in various languages are listed in abbrevation
instead of full language names here,
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f10/
For a novice, no techy user, these abbrevations is very very confusing and
barely helpful.
I'd suggest a list like,
Italian (it)
Spanish (es)
US English (en_US)
...
...
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 10 Release notes
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the link http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f10/
2.
3.
Actual results:
Abbrevations that don't make any sense to non techy users.
Expected results:
Language name and it's abbrevation

[Bug 473136] New: Systems with mirrored LVM drives do need labeling
by Red Hat Bugzilla

Summary: Systems with mirrored LVM drives do need labeling

Summary: Systems with mirrored LVM drives do need labeling
Product: Fedora Documentation
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: medium
Component: release-notes
AssignedTo: relnotes(a)fedoraproject.org
ReportedBy: jjcogliati-r1(a)yahoo.com
QAContact: kwade(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
In the release notes section 2.1.4.2 for Fedora 10, it says "Systems that use
Logical Volume Management (LVM) and the device mapper usually do not require
relabeling." This is incorrect if you have a mirrored LVM partition, since the
UUID for the mirrored partition is not unique:
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-lvol0_mimage_1:
UUID="c9bee71a-ebda-4357-a509-cd92e4a60697" SEC_TYPE="ext2" TYPE="ext3"
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-lvol0_mimage_0:
UUID="c9bee71a-ebda-4357-a509-cd92e4a60697" SEC_TYPE="ext2" TYPE="ext3"
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-lvol0: UUID="c9bee71a-ebda-4357-a509-cd92e4a60697"
TYPE="ext3" LABEL="mirrored" SEC_TYPE="ext2"
If there is no label, with the UUID mount can pick up one of the mirror images
(lvol0_mimage_1 or lvol0_migage_0) which will fail.
This is probably a bug in blkid or anaconda as well, so I will file one under
blkid.
For the release notes, it should probably mention that mirrored LVM partitions
do need to be labeled.

fedora_requires_release_note requested: [Bug 474964] K-3D Fails to launch
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Product: Fedora
Version: 10
Component: k3d
Orlando Arias <orlandoarias(a)gmail.com> has asked for
fedora_requires_release_note:
Bug 474964: K-3D Fails to launch
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=474964
------- Additional Comments from Orlando Arias <orlandoarias(a)gmail.com>
Description of problem:
K-3D fails to launch with the following error:
$ k3d
No GLX capable visual found
CRITICAL: Caught exception [St13runtime_error] - Could not connect to an
OpenGL server.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
k3d-0.6.7.0-7.fc10.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-177.82-1.fc10.x86_64
(using the proprietary drive from the YouKnowWhichRepo)
I am sure the issue is with k-3d itself, and not with the driver, 3D
acceleration works, glx is loaded (even explicitly defined in Xorg's
configuration). No errors are found in Xorg's logs.
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attempt to launch k-3d
Actual results:
K-3D fails to launch.
Expected results:
K-3D should launch...
