I actually found the fault - or part of it, at any rate. For reasons
unknown, cobbler had forgotten about the network interface in the
"systems" bit; adding that in again helps quite a bit (I didn't see a
menu, but then I've only got one entry, so that's probably right).
If you don't add one, it won't be there. I don't think Cobbler forgot
about it, or that a missing
interface on a system object breaks PXE setups. If you think it does,
let me know.
Yep. I have added a slightly newer syslinux (from Dag Wieers' repository),
because the original was pretty much non-functional. Given that I now have
some life, I'll try to persever with this for a little while...
I'd recommend just grabbing it from source than using stuff from DAG. He
has typically
had some packages in there that are /rather/ out of date (Cobbler
included, which there's no point in
having a second copy since the EPEL copy is definitive). At least, don't
configure yum to attach to it...
