I just added EPEL to ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de. This is already
configured in MirrorManager (host 1194). Enjoy!

MirrorManager ignores any FTP links you enter silently.

I manually started a run of the crawler and you should soon (about one
hour) see clients being redirected to your mirror. The crawler has some
problems with you mirror however:

That's perfectly fine, that's more a joke than anything else (but we
still support FTP).

We're still downloading the data, maybe my mail was a bit premature.
This should be fixed soon (I'm downloading with more than 1 GBit/sec).
