The wget didn't work because the package I was trying to download had
been updated. Using

I am now getting speeds of around 10MB/s so it seems that the problem
has been fixed.
I am, therefore, not going to bother submitting a report.

Thanks for the info. I'll make a report there but as of today I'm
getting errors accessing the mirror via wget.
I sent the email to that address because that's what I used back in
2012 to report a similar problem. I looked for updated information
but was not able to find any.
I am in CA but Canada, not California :-). To be specific, I'm in BC
so a mirror located in CA is not unreasonable.
