I took the time to chat with a HostGator sales rep. They are based at ThePlanet in
Dallas, TX. At most you could serve 10Mbits/sec. Fedora is fortunate to have dozens of
mirrors in the US, many with 1Gbit links, most with at least 100Mbit/sec links. For the
few grandfathered mirrors with less than 100Mbit/sec links, those are the ones I get the
most complaints about when MirrorManager somewhat randomly chooses to send a user to
them.
Furthermore, while I would welcome your contribution as a bittorrent seeder, bittorrent is
not allowed on HostGator accounts per their TOS.

So, while I thank you for your interest in providing a mirror, I would recommend you find
other ways in which you can contribute to Fedora.
Thanks,
Matt

I work with a webhosting company called "hostgator" with .I'm not that naive
to believe the unlimited plans but I had a chat with a techician of company before
contacting you and he keep claiming the only limit is physical connection.
I don't really use any bandwidth at all, just 2 small websites, so I decided to put
the rest of the bandwidth to use.
If it won't be a big problem I want try being a mirror
Best Regards

Do you work with or for the ISP of your web hosting company? We've found that even
"unlimited" hosting plans often are limited in some fashion (most likely on the
size of the outbound network pipe you are permitted to consume). Most often we prefer to
work with people directly related to the I/T service provider. For the same reason, I
don't host a mirror on my own Shared Virtual Server web hosting account - in practice
it's not unlimited, despite the advertisements.
Please advise.
