Ran Record-77 with os125. In general, I'm satisfied with how it works (but with 'high' quality I did experience the ticket #10165 problem).
Etoys still has a problem playing the recorded video (and with audio, only one of the three options Etoys offered me would work).
It was interesting that JukeBox-19 correctly played back both the video clip made by Record and the audio clip made by Record. [As did Browse.]
[Note: on F11-on-XO1, Record-77 shows black where the image should be.]

Can you confirm you used Record-77 with os125 when you experienced #10165?
The reason I ask is that the version included with os125 is Record-76, a custom OLPC version from http://dev.laptop.org/~cjb/record-76.xo with post-install olpc-os-builder edits to glive.py to change the instance path to /tmp.
You could identify which version you have best by providing an md5sum of the glive.py file in /home/olpc/Activities/Record.activity/
Could you also tell me which symptom of #10165 you experienced? (does not finish saving, mouse cursor spins, strace shows EXDEV, or Errno 18 in a log).
Watch out; doing a Software Update on os125 will attempt to fetch Record-77 from activities.sugarlabs.org.
