also new in powerd (chris missed the changelog from intermediate
powerd release 14):
    - implement option 'b' from the devel thread -- a keypress
	will now wake the laptop from a blank screen idle-suspend.
    - fix wake-on-wlan to work properly
    - lengthen idle timeouts:  15s to suspend, 3 min to dim,
	7 min to blank, and then 4 hours to shutdown.

Good eyes.  :)

It's the same build, but without GNOME/the sugar_activities_extra group,
in order to see how easy it is to make a small Sugar build.  The answer
is that the image is 280M compressed, 831M uncompressed used after boot.

Looks like there is a regression in the record activity. Basically video is black and
audio does not record enything. I know people are working on Record/GStreamerz issues, but
I'm not sure the following 2 issues are part of it, so here they are:

GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin
'/home/olpc/Activities/Record.activity/gst/linux64/libgstvalve.so':
/home/olpc/Activities/Record.activity/gst/linux64/libgstvalve.so: wrong ELF class:
ELFCLASS64

CRITICAL **: file gstvorbistag.c: line 592 (gst_tag_to_vorbis_comments): should not be
reached

BTW, Powerd behaves much better now, if you remember not to wake it up with the power
button when in suspend. As long as this is not changing back and forth is fine, but
otherwise in may end up in some *beeep* words :-)

can you clarify this?  (not the beeep words.  i'm familiar with those.  ;-)

the way it's designed to work (and i just rechecked) is:
    - if the screen is on, whether the laptop is suspended or not,
	the power button will bring up the "menu" screen.
    - if the screen is dark, the power button will just wake up the
	laptop (or power it up, of course, if it was off).

the switch from option 'a' to 'b', i.e., allowing keypresses to wake
the laptop from a dark-screen idle-suspend, should have had no effect
on this behavior.

are you seeing something else?

Speak-14 does not work in os116.
I did file a bug with Sugarlabs (#1869) but till then you may want to roll back to a
working version.

Speak-14 works well for me on build 116.

NOTE:  The first time I tried sound output on os116, I heard nothing --
it turned out the volume (as shown by the icon in Frame) was set zero.

A more remote possibility is trouble with ALSA.  Does the command
'alsamixer' give any errors ?

I'll reinstall and check in due time but, on a wild guess, do you have any of the
flash-plugin, alsa-plugins-pulseaudio, libcurl and nspluginwrapper (all required for flash
playing according to official Fedora) installed? That's the only other thing installed
over os116.

'rpm -q libcurl' says it is installed, presumably by os116
'rpm -q alsa-plugins-pulseaudio, nspluginwrapper' says not installed

I have installed the latest Adobe Flash plugin 10.1, and have disabled
the Gnash plugin.

alsa-plugins-pulseaudio is the offending package. Removing it brings everything to normal
and flash still works.
I guess is not always wise to follow the instructions :-)
