That is what 'info grub' explicitely says:
This means that, for example, you only need to type
root (
followed by a <TAB>, and GRUB will display the list of drives,
partitions, or file names.
Nothing like that happens while apparently it used to in the past
(or this is really architecture dependent?). That is extremely
unhelpful in "rescue" situations. Checked currently with
grub-0.97-33.fc9.x86_64.
An automatic bug-zapping is maybe a "feel good" activity but
is seriously counterproductive.

I can crash xmesa_check_and_update_buffer_size on X startup, on fully updated
F9, but I am using the livna nvidia driver. Next time I try xorg-x11-drv-nv
(currently broken for me due to #234824) I will see if the problem persists.

Checked upstream and could not find a matching bug. Please report at
http://bugs.kde.org and add upstream report info to the report. Will monitor
upstream for resolution. FYI Amarok 2 is under intense development not sure if
they have time/resources to address version 1 issues.
