This bug STILL EXISTS in FC15.
Gabriel's suggestion also worked for me -- just now it shows the GIDs instead
of the name on any 'ls -l' command. And always the possibility that something
else will break down the line if a group name is required.
Isn't this getting a little ridiculous, or is someone gunning for the prize for
the oldest bug on record?

------- Additional Comments from mcl8(a)psu.edu
I no longer use Fedora 13, but xsane does not work on Fedora 14 (64-bit)
either:
Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'xsane' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 18684 error_code 8 request_code 151 minor_code 5)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
