netloop
by Curtis Doty
Am I going about this wrong? It's quite trivial to deadlock the Fedora
kernel.
# modprobe netloop ; rmmod netloop
unregister_netdevice: waiting for veth3 to become free. Usage count = 1
unregister_netdevice: waiting for veth3 to become free. Usage count = 1
unregister_netdevice: waiting for veth3 to become free. Usage count = 1
...
This is without doing anything else with xend or the other modules. So
why/who/what grabbed a hold of that veth?
I just did this today on 2.6.20-1.2933 and have done it before with one or
more of the 2.6.18 builds.

Removing Xen
by Gary Bricher
I installed Fedora Core 6 and indicated I wanted "Virtualization" from the package selection screen. How do I remove it? When I used the GUI package manager to remove Vitualization the system hung and would not reboot. In /boot I only have one vmlinuz file. It is vmlinuz-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6xen. The same is true of the boot screen, there is only one boot entry listed. I have several systems setup with Xen and want to remove it from them. How do I uninstall Xen?

new installation of the base operating system
by Abri Nation
Hi @all,
i have installed Fedore Core 6 with Xen-Support.
now i have to install fedora core 7 or centos5 as the
new base operting system.
will there be any problems after the new installation to start my
configuerd virtual machines? i have the "disks" of the virtual machines
on a seperate LVM partition. i would change /dev/sda1, /dev/sda2 and
/dev/sda3 (new installation)
but not the filesystems where the virtual machines are stored (/dev/sda5).
has anyone experience with that or can tell me if i will get in trouble to
start the VMs after the the base
operating system?
my partion table at the moment:
/dev/sda1 * 1 19 152586 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 20 3843 30716280 83 Linux
/dev/sda3 3844 4990 9213277+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda4 Extended
/dev/sda5 Linux LVM
thank you very much for help!

Cluster Filesystem like VMware's VMFS?
by Christian Reiter
Hi!
Is there any kind of cluster filesystem for use with xen available?
I think of the following:
I want to have on big SAN LUN presented to all of my dom0 Machines.
If one of the dom0 fails i can easily restart the domU on another dom0
Machine
without having to represent the SAN-LUNs from the failed box to the
remaining
working boxes.
VMware provides VMFS as solution. Is there anything comparable for Xen?
Mit freundlichen Grüßen, /// Kind Regards,
Christian Reiter
