Hi, My name is Steven Meyer, and I thought I'd introduce myself.
I still remember the day my dad first introduced me to Linux, and my first Distro was called Fedora (Core at the time). I remember the strange feeling, the feeling of everything working as it should. It was fast, with lots of free open source software, and no blue screens of death.
Years later I still use Fedora, and I am attached to it. The thing was, at the time I really wasn't very technically inclined. I was a regular gamer, CS and HL were great, but all I knew was the Power/Reset button and Windows. Years later I still dont know everything, but at least Im making an active effort to learn everything I can.
I'm a programmer, a gamer, a Linux user. Heres my link " https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Smeyer" Im working on my wiki page now. Don't worry if its a bit sparse!

It took a long time with a giant pile of install floppies for me to reach that feeling when I first was introduced to Linux, but once my friends and I got it to work (...several weeks after we'd begun), that feeling of free, fast functionality was pretty darn addictive.

We're all learning here, so you're definitely in the right place. Welcome!

From your userpage, I'm guessing you're in Maryland - whereabouts? I'm in the Washington DC area this semester and would love to bike out to unis with Fedora folks, hang out, and figure out what projects we can drum up in the area this fall (maybe something for Software Freedom Day, which is coming up in 2 weeks).
