Hello,
Anytime I propose a new event or idea for Fedora, I get a -1 on Saturday
meetings all the time, because Alex always asks for a wiki.
For this FAD in Peru I was not included at all since the very beginning, so
I though that preparing a proposal for Lima was a different project because
Cusco was so expensive.
I belong Fedora since 2012, I only attended two Ambassador events, Fudcon
Cusco 2013 and Fudcon Puno 2016 and I did not see real contribution of
people to the project during these events.
In both events, we had Ambassadors with strong expertise and lot of
interested people that would have lead workshops (in my point of view) to
train ourselves or propose better ways to work.
What I do in my events are installations and user interaction with Fedora
such as using the terminal to run basic admin commands.
I dared to express my wish in the FAD Lima 2017 proposal for training
people one day because I have young enthusiastic students engaged with
Linux in Lima that I can not mentor in a proper way since I did not do a
real contribution to the Fedora project. I need the help of you LATAM, and
with the experience, I can later start the Fedora Lima Challenge (in case
you approve it).
My local team is aware of this FAD Lima 2017 proposal because I do not
things alone.
Besides sending options that include the users focus day, I did sent other
there more options without them, that you might take.
In case you want to remove my proposal wiki, is up to you too.
In case you still need a place for FAD in Lima or wherever is going to be,
you have my support.
Communication is very important in communities and more since we have
different cultures. As GNU/Linux leader in Lima, I want to do positive
things, please do not misunderstood my disclaim.
Best regards,
Julita

Please, work together, this is the first thing you as a team have to do.
Learn to don't say "I" and say more "We" it's a good exercise
even if you
are the only person of a team, this does people feeling involved.

I agree with Alex at this point, we want leadership in the people, not
people attracting attention.

If you guys want to include a user component, you can do the same that
Nicaragua did for invite people to Fudcon, visit some universities
explaining how it works Fedora community and why is interesting belonging
it. but please avoid become it in the main goal of the event -
