We lost zodbot during our IRC meeting today but I asked infrastructure team for help in converting the logs into the format we need. Once we get that done, I will post it here

Hi,
A few suggestions and possibly missing items.
http://log.amitshah.net/2011/07/first-fudcon-india-meeting.html
Essentials that seem to be missing, sorry if I missed something.
1. Arrangement of local transportation.(Rented car/taxi). 2. Webcast. 3. Converting Registrations to badges and getting them printed(assuming we are giving them to a printing business). 4. What about breakfast? It would be nice to have some other organization to sponsor this.
Will be nice to have someone put together things like(for the booklet): 1. Local restaurants. 2. Places of interest nearby. 3. A map of the venue and the city (assuming we don't want to use google maps), with landmarks such as ATMs, Pharmacies etc. 4. Emergency numbers. and so on.
For infrastructure: In addition to wireless, we should check the number of power outlets at venue. Also, do we require backup power in the venue?
Thanks.
- Converting Registrations to badges and getting them
printed(assuming we are giving them to a printing business).
The recent gnome conf at Bangalore generated a badge at registration that people could print themselves. I think that's a good way to go? It would save some work, and resources.

I am not sure how they did it, but that, in my opinion, will look a bit unprofessional for FUDCon.
Also, anything done at venue will increase the chance of a mess. I think it is better to get things done beforehand. And it won't not take much resources to print (at most) 300 badges.
Thanks.

Hello,
I'm not sure you understood me.
When one registered online (which iirc we intend to let people do at this FUDCon), the webpage itself generated a nice bar code included badge. One printed it out, and wore it/carried it etc. Only people who had on venue registrations got badges there, the rest already had them.
I don't think it's unprofessional, but the organizers should really decide on this. Just a suggestion :)
I missed cc'ing the -india list in the last mail. Apologies.

You have a booth, people checkin and pick up their registrations and the goodies. The organisers get a chance to welcome everyone, everything is nice and friendly. :)
Asking people to print their own registrations is ok, but I am bit uncomfortable about it.
The organisers, of course, may decide to do whatever is best.
Thanks.

No planning ahead needed for this. Can inform a taxi just a day before someone arrives. Nevertheless, logistics is taken care of by Murty

Is in the spreadsheet. Kushal is handling goodies as stated

No budget. If we get sponsors, we will consider this.

Something for Ankur Sinha, Suchakra

I am missing something here. How far are the hotels from the venue? Walking distance? Does these hotels offer shuttle to/from airport/bus station?
My point was you would need rented cars/taxies etc. Instead of calling a cab as and when you require them, which will probably be more costly, if you book #n cars for three days, they might offer you a discount.
- Webcast.
Live streaming? No plans to
Not even audio?

Thanks, also, a few pictures of the venue/halls would be icing on the cake.

It is too early to say. Has to determined after the hotel is decided

Not unless someone volunteers to help arrange this.

How about adding it to to-do list and see if someone volunteers? Thanks.
