Can we drop this tag on all list emails? All clients offer ways to
filter email from lists. In some readers, this tag makes it harder to
read the actual subject line to tell what the message is about. IIRC
common Fedora netiquette is to not use this tag.
By the way, you can use the header List-Id to filter easily. You can
use the term "list:magazine@lists.fedoraproject.org" in Gmail's
filters as well. Most other web based email UIs have similar
functions.

Hello everyone,
In today's Magazine meeting, we wanted to help share writing
opportunities for anyone looking for a chance to write their first or
another article for the Magazine. In case you weren't already aware,
there are starter pitches on the Magazine for hot, trending topics you
can write about:
https://fedoramagazine.org/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=starter-pitches&po…
Another of these idea we are looking for writers on in is an article on
the OpenWeather GNOME Shell Extension. This add-on is a simple GNOME
extension that makes it easy to get the weather from a location you set.
You can find the add-on and the description in the Magazine at the links
below:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/750/openweather/https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=13733&preview=1&_ppp=99a2030117
If you're interested in writing this, please drop a reply here on the
list that you're interested. We'll move the article from starter pitches
to drafts and assign you editing rights so you can get started. If you
have any questions, feel free to reach out here as well.
Thanks everyone!

Last week's hits were the highest weekly total we've had in over six
months -- and maybe ever -- other than a release week: over 61K. And
if we can pull off a few more great posts by Monday, we'll beat
non-release *months* too!
I think this shows that more articles are good, especially those that
involve high frequency search hits from users. Atom and Raspberry Pi
especially stood out with high numbers of views.
I would encourage all writers, rather than writing about random topics
you think might be interesting, first look at writing toward some of
the ideas we are setting up as starter pitches from last meeting:
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/teams/magazine/magazine.2016-10-20-21.00.…
Just my $0.02. :-)

Hi team,
I'm making some editions to Sylvia's Python article. Particulary, I'm not
happy with the results, I think we can discuss this to make it a serie, and
not a single article. Being the original Sylvia's article the first one,
and the pass to an article about tips, Virtual Environment, PEPs and others.
Here is the preview:

Another of these articles we are looking for writers on in is "How to
install supplemental wallpapers". Every new release of Fedora, a series
of supplemental wallpapers from the community are packaged and provided
for people to install. If they want to add more variety to the
wallpapers available by default, they can install these to pick from.

One of these articles we are looking for writers on in is "How to
install Chromium in Fedora". As of not too long ago, Chromium is now
officially packaged in Fedora and can be installed from the main
repositories using dnf. We're looking for someone to help explain what
Chromium is, differences from Chromium and Chrome, and how to install it
with GNOME Software and with dnf.

* stickster reached out to a Fedora GCC maintainer for feedback,
passed along those comments and feedback to the original author -
have not yet received a response back, but if no word back by next

* ACTION: jflory7 Reach out to devyani7 about setting a target date
for Fedora Hubs intro article (jflory7, 21:18:51)
* IDEA: Current article structure is a little confusing since it's a
lot of abstract content - might be good idea to restructure article
from a blank slate and cherry pick pieces from original (jflory7,
21:24:44)
* IDEA: Writing a "Hello world!" program as first task in this article
(jflory7, 21:24:53)
* IDEA: Introducing Python in Fedora => Finding a development
environment (installing libraries and IDEs from repos, etc.) =>
Popular tools and Python tricks (pip in virtualenv, etc.) => Where
to get help / learn more about Python in Fedora (jflory7, 21:25:29)
* ACTION: x3mboy Based on feedback from meeting, try rewriting the
"Starting with Python in Fedora" from a blank slate, cherry-picking
content from original article and adding in new pieces, aim for
checking in at next week's meeting (jflory7, 21:27:32)

* IDEA: Pictures would help improve this article! (jflory7, 21:32:34)
* IDEA: Screenshots of terminal output can be converted to plaintext
in the article post - screenshots of the final product would be
helpful or other examples of projects (jflory7, 21:33:31)
* ACTION: stickster Reach out to sumantrom with editing advice /
comments / feedback on the Web VR article and how to refine it
further into a polished piece for the Magazine (jflory7, 21:34:51)
* Otherwise, if unable to make progress by end of next week, move this
article to holding pen (jflory7, 21:35:13)
* === Security Tip articles === (jflory7, 21:37:25)

Badger (jflory7, 21:46:37)

* Solid technical article that explains the "how" well (jflory7,
21:50:35)
* IDEA: More introduction to kickstarts, Rawhide, qcow2, etc. would be

you're using this for or what you would do with it after setting it
up (jflory7, 21:51:28)

* Articles for coming week(s) (jflory7, 21:59:02)

thing to cover! (jflory7, 21:59:04)
* IDEA: Fedora 25 Server edition has an SELinux Troubleshooter module
built in! Wow! This would be super cool to cover too! (jflory7,
21:59:24)
* Whoa, Cockpit now also supports 2FA authentication? How cool is
that? A short-and-sweet Magazine article would be double-cool!
(jflory7, 21:59:54)
* IDEA: There's even the all-platform Fedora Media Writer for making
