Article on Chromium-vaapi

Hello,
I am currently working on an article about chromium-vaapi. This article is about introduce
an almost vanilla variant of chromium with hardware acceleration patches.
Hardware acceleration is very power efficient plus it also enables 4K video if supported
by the system. I will also be writing about :
How to enable hardware acceleration since it's disabled by default
Installing drivers for vaapi amd/nvidia gpu powered machines.
It's pros and cons

PS: This package is currently in review for rpmfusion release as rpmfusion requires

A bit off topic:

If you are trying to put this package to rpmfusion, is it for legal 
reasons? If so, prepare for this copr repo to be deleted any time.

Copr shares the same legal rules as Fedora.

The copr repo is compiled without restricted codecs(All the restricted code is already
deleted before uploading) for testing. But since most of web streams restricted codec aka
h264 video. The purpose of this copr repo doesn't met as only youtube streams vp9.
This is why the project is moving to a separate package with all the restricted codecs on
rpmfusion.

I already sent an email here but it is not showing. Anyway,

The copr repo is compiled without restricted codecs(All the restricted code is already

I'm perhaps not clear on what the coverage is here. Is this article
meant to cover the upstream codebase, or a legally OK Fedora or COPR
codebase? The Magazine can't point users at code that's not legal for
them to run.

I don't think he want to write about my repo. I think he wants to
write about how important html5 video decoding acceleration is and what are it's
benifits in battery powered devices running fedora. Not anyone wants their devices to get
turned off quickly because chrome is taking too much power trying to decode an online
video. If he does write I will ask him not to do it.

My bad for the inadequately described pitch. Often, using regular chromium for watching
online videos is very power consuming, especially on  popular websites like Youtube. This
is usually a major issue for battery powered devices like a regular laptop or a raspberry
pi etc. This is where chromium-vaapi comes into play, it is a chromium browser with GPU
hardware acceleration patches ( disabled by default of course )  which enable the browser
to use system hardware to decode the video in a better and more power efficient way. Also,
this enables 4K video capabilty in supported devices. I am concentrating on this specific
package even tho there are a ton of other web browsers that do the same because in my
honest opinion, I think there are a boat load of people who'd rather use the regular
chromium than opt for something else. This package offers them just the same but with
better power efficiency which could be a boon for older devices with a weak battery. I
could change my article to 
 suit the requirements of Fedora Magazine if there's any issue.
