Users tend to fill up their home very quickly and we don't have
400-500MB of free space for an extra copy.
We do, however, perform automatic journal backups on the xs. Only, we
have problems with the restore procedure ;-)

Re: unsupported nodetype e009
by Yioryos Asprobounitis
Absolutely.
Different (2.6.31) kernels same message too, but is an OFW message rather than kernel.
Could it be a new bad block not detected? Reinstalling should get the same problem at exactly the same block, no?

unsupported nodetype e009
by Yioryos Asprobounitis
Under F11-XO1/os11 I get during boot at the OFW screen the message "unsupported nodetype e009" right after the boot arguments. Then boot proceeds normally.
Reinstalling F11-XO1/os11 or the firmware (both q2e41 and q2e42e) makes no difference.
The only problem with the XO is that there are no APs shown in the neighborhood view. Connecting manually from the terminal is OK. Other (non-olpc)operating systems are OK too.
This is _not_ a problem of os11 since it was working OK previously, eg before the networked when out and I reinstalled.
Is this a hardware failure? (OFW test-all reports no problems other than my broken camera). Is my trusty XO giving up? :-)

by Chris Ball

http://build.laptop.org/10.2.0/os113
Compressed image size: 678.85mb (-0.04mb since build 112)
Description of changes in this build:
* enable Xv support (#9407)
* patch to disable HQV0 camera interrupts from Jon Corbet (#10061)
* powerd update, fixes to olpc-pwr-log integration
* pull f11 updates
Note that the Record activity's use of Xv is known to be buggy, and can cause
X server crashes; we're working on it. Thanks to Jon Nettleton for putting
the Xv support code together.

Re: New XO-1.5 10.2.0 build 112

My concern is that it might be difficult to "tune" Cpuidle to
distinguish between "non-essential" processing (which could tolerate
suspending) versus background activity whose completion the user is
nevertheless awaiting (and which should preferably avoid suspending).
I use ethernet rather than wireless. Historically, my systems have
suspended despite an ongoing (via ethernet) data transfer -- that's why
at home (when my XOs are plugged in to AC) I disable suspend. I am
doubtful whether Cpuidle would consider the small amount of CPU
processing involved with handling ethernet packet interrupts as
exceeding whatever "idle threshold" it has been designed to recognize.
