I'd like kde-plasma-weather-1.0.0-6.fc11 tagged into the F11 release, as
it greatly improves the usability of the package:
- fixes https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=495998 where the
applet would just forget its configuration under some conditions (a latent
bug triggered by Qt 4.5)
- fixes some display issues, in particular the initial size of the panel
popup was too small with Qt 4.5
- fixes browser invocation to use the preferred browser setting rather
than the file association for text/html (there is a separate setting in
KDE's System Settings for the preferred browser, though it defaults to
using the file association for text/html) - a trivial fix backported from
upstream trunk
and those are the only changes since the 1.0.0-3.fc11 build currently in
dist-f11.
The changes have been tested by at least 2 people (Ben Boeckel (mathstuf)
and myself), we found them to work and to cause no regressions.

Okay so the fix to stop the rs690 firefox crash, caused other side
effects.
I'm going to make it priamry focus this week to fix that without damaging
other hw.

Thanks for the tips.
I have change the spec to use this solution.
https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/1639
But can you consider editing your script to use
rpmdev-bumpspec --rightmost ...
This will solve issues for various packages which can encounter the same
problem (same version in both F10 and F11) as we are going to have a few
months with different xulrunner versions in Fedora
Packages for which I see an issue for F10/F11 upgrade

The mono maintainer and I discussed whether to have mono build on ppc64
for F11. It was decided that that would be desirable. Building mono on a
new arch requires that we build the package once using a builtin version
of the C# compiler. Then we can build the package a second time using
that package to provide the compiler for the arch. To do the second build
we'd need to have mono-2.4-18.fc11 in the buildroot.
I don't know whether this should also be tagged for the release. The
change is minor (just providing a build on ppc64) but it would allow
packages using mono to build on ppc64 (if they add ppc64 to their
ExclusiveArch lines). If the maintainer did that *and* a subsequent build
of that package had to be tagged for the F11 release, the new mono (and
libraries the package depended on) would have to be brought in so they are
available on ppc64 as well.
If waiting for the release makes this easier, go ahead and defer this
until then.

Bug #496026 describes a problem where Intel graphics cards do not have the
chvt removed due to a typo bug in pm-utils upstream. I've backported the
_trivial_ patch which is reported to work fine.
Impact of not tagging this is that owners of Intel 855GM do not get
working suspend. I would really like this to be fixed for the release.
Thanks.
Richard.

In gnome-power-manager-2.26.1-2 we've backported a patch from upstream to
fix the DPMS on monitors. Impact of not tagging this build is that DPMS
does not work correctly by default, and that screen blanking seems not to
do what it's told. It's been tested by a few people already, and seems to
work okay for me. As a general note, 2.26.1 upstream release also
backported the new idletime code from master, which seems to work better
than the old clunky idletime code.
This fixes #485601. This bug is a F11-blocker, and so I'm quite keen to
close it.
Thanks.

This reverts the changes which I made (in 4.2.2-8.fc11, so they got tagged
as part of the 4.2.2-9.fc11 freeze override) in an attempt to fix
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=495998 . I'm reverting those
changes because the kconf_update script just plain did not work for
several reasons, both screwups on my end (syntax error which made it
create a junk config file named "plasmarc,plasmoidviewer-appletsrc" (with
that comma) instead of editing the existing files) and inherent design
conflicts between kconf_update and Plasma.
In short: this reverts one of the bugfixes between 4.2.2-7.fc11 and
4.2.2-9.fc11 because the "fix" is broken (the other, unrelated bugfix is
staying).
(Note that Release jumped from 9 to 12 because I first made 2 attempts at
fixing the kconf_update script, but the design limitations mentioned above
still make it not work properly, so I decided to revert it entirely.)
I'm convinced reverting the offending changes is the safest thing to do
for F11. I'll work on a solution for #495998 within the weather applet.
I would like this tagged as soon as possible (before the preview release
if possible) to avoid making a mess out of users' config files, also
considering this just drops a bad pair of patches, it doesn't add anything
new.

Essentially the same as before except that I enabled the spell checker. It
wasn't working for me before but this release fixes it and I didn't
realize that. Sorry for the churn
