[PATCH 0/2] Adjust mkbranch for automating git branch creation
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Hi all,
Here is a proposed set of changes to the mkbranch script.
The first patch is just replacing all tabs in the file by spaces (simple
clean-up).
The second is the more important one. It drops the use/support of the
-s/--source argument.
This argument is currently used to specify from which point to branch when
creating a branch in the repo.
We argeed that instead of pointing to a specific branch (which would require
keeping a mapping somewhere of which branch should be branched from which other
branch), we would create the new branch by pointing them to the first commit in
the repository.
That's what this commit (hopefully) does :)
Thanks,
Pierre

#6080: epel7 branch for jsr-305

Hi,
You recently created an epel7 branch for the jsr-305 package. (Thanks!)
While trying to build FindBugs for EPEL 7 using mock, I noticed that
jsr-305 was actually being pulled in from the 'base' repo. However that
repo is a CentOS repo, not a RHEL repo.
Having the epel7 branch might turn out to be very useful, since I might
need a newer version of jsr-305 for FindBugs. But assuming that there is a
jsr-305 package in RHEL, is it OK that there is now also a jsr-305 in EPEL
7?
(I seem to remember something on the wiki saying that EPEL branches would
not be created for packages that are already in RHEL, but I might be
mistaken.)

Hi
I recently requested el6 and epel7 branches for these five packages, with
the intention of getting FindBugs into EPEL. In hindsight I was far too
optimistic about being able to do that...
jsr-305 is built with Maven, and Maven isn't in EPEL 6.
findbugs depends on several Java libraries that aren't currently packaged
for EPEL.
To get FindBugs into EPEL will require several new packages to be added
first, and I don't have time to take that on.
Is it possible to undo the branch creation for these packages? I haven't
done any builds of them yet.
Sorry for wasting your time :-(

Trying to build vdsm for epel6 fails with a dependency issue when trying
to pull in qemu-img:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=600894
https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/8711/8548711/root.log
nirik did some magic, which widdled the error down to:
DEBUG util.py:366: Error: Package: 2:qemu-img-0.12.1.2-2.448.el6_6.x86_64
(build)
DEBUG util.py:366: Requires: libgfapi.so.0()(64bit)
That's via a vdsm scratch build.
qemu-img-0.12.1.2-2.448.el6_6.x86_64 is the latest qemu package in RHEL6.6
zstream, but for some reason the correct gluster packages aren't found, it
should be finding glusterfs-api-3.6.0.28-2.el6.x86_64.rpm which is the
version shipped with RHEL/Centos 6.6
nirik asked me to file this ticket since he ran out of ideas
