What about dkms?
Joachim Backes I always install dkms. I have been using Vmware Workstation since 6 edition. Funny thing, it just compiled for some unknown reason so I am going to not worry about it now. My laptop is still not able to compile but oh well. Everything is the same on it as on my desktop. That is strange. Thanks for your imput.
Lawrence,
look at https://communities.vmware.com/message/2335957 and http://ping8888.com/2013/12/13/vmware-modules-kernel-3-13/ for instructions on patching this version of VMware for kernel 3.13. If you have problems make sure you read *ALL* of the posts from the communities site as there are instructions on how to fix the patching issue if you have it.
