NVIDIA Question
by David St.Clair
This may be a dumb question, but why can't Redhat distribute NVIDIA binary
drivers?
In NVIDIA's licence (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nv_swlicense.html) it
says:
"2.1.2 Linux Exception. Notwithstanding the foregoing terms of Section
2.1.1, SOFTWARE designed exclusively for use on the Linux operating system
may be
copied and redistributed, provided that the binary files thereof are not
modified in any
way (except for unzipping of compressed files)."
So, what's keeping RedHat from putting the drivers in the distribution? If
it's a GPL
thing, would it be easy to just download it during installation or at
least give the option to the user?
Thanks,

Mouse goes crazy
by Jonathan Villa
Ok, I have had Yarrow working well for a while now, but yesterday I
started experiencing some odd issues with my mouse. All of a sudden it
stops working correctly. The only thing that seems to fix is to kill X
and run mouse-test, then restart.
Any ideas?
Also, I have FC 1 running on a desktop which is hooked up to a KVM
switch. Whenever I go to another PC, and return, the same thing
happens, the mouse goes crazy.

If I may ask, why do I have to remove this? I've always used the NVIDIA
driver, before fedora, and never had a problem.
Thanks

Fedora 2.6 kernel problems
by Ryan Nix
Hello,
Someone posted a reply/fix to this yesterday and unfortunately, I
deleted it. :-[
I get a kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on hda2. I believe
the fix had something to do with the grub.conf file.
Can anyone offer any pointers?
Thanks in advance!

Here is the grub stanza -

> root (hd0,2)
> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.0-mm1 ro root=/dev/hda2
This is what I use ro root=/dev/hda2 and it works
Thanks for the help

A Newbie with 2135 and trying to install NVIDIA 4496 or 5328
by Keith Goode
OK, this is how far I have got and can't get any further... Help!
Arghhhhh!
I put the system at runlevel at 3, logged in as root, and ran the .run
pkg for either the 4496 or 5328.. No matter what, it tells me it does
not know where my kernel (or I need to recompile...) is and wants me to
include --kernel-include-path...
I know I have 2135, but, does anyone know what I am supposed to do?
This is the first time I have ever run Linux at all, and I do not know
anything! At least the Fedora installation went easy enough for me to
understand, I even kept Windows 2000 on board!
Thanks,
