Announcing the creation of a new nightly release validation test event for Fedora 33 Branched 20200916.n.0. Please help run some tests for this nightly compose if you have time. For more information on nightly release validation testing, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Release_validation_test_plan
Notable package version changes: lorax - 20200912.n.0: lorax-33.8-2.fc33.src, 20200916.n.0: lorax-33.10-1.fc33.src
Just wanted to flag this up for folks: the changes to lorax were made to reduce the size of the network install images below the 700M limit, and involve stripping more stuff out of the installer environment (the runtime environment of the network install and Server DVD images). Even more terrifyingly they were written by me, so please test them ;) Especially if you have exotic hardware or do weird stuff in the installer environment, please check that it still works.
You can see the actual changes that were made here:
https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/a589a4d2 (no notification-daemon) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/3cf3a18c (cut video playback acceleration drivers) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/ffc49fe3 (cut gnome-firmware and sigrok-firmware) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/f231e915 (pull polkit-gnome instead of lxpolkit and GTK+ 2) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/727dc5e5 (cut various hopefully unnecessary firmware files) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/9ead517e (another firmware cut) https://github.com/weldr/lorax/commit/49190376 (one more firmware cut)
thanks folks!
